The Strong and Supportive Aboriginal Women’s Group is conducted in partnership with Liverpool Women’s Resource Centre. The group meets at Liverpool Women’s Resource Centre (23 Sheriff Street, Ashcroft) on Thursdays from 10.00am to 2.30pm, all year.

Throughout the year, this social and support group explores a range of women’s health topics, as well as participating in various cultural activities and events. There is no cost to attend this group, though a donation is welcomed.

A Safe Place

A Safe Place – is a six week program for women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence.

Our next Safe Place program will be held on Fridays from 10.00am to 12.30pm, commencing in 2019.

This group will explore topics such as:

• Different forms of domestic abuse
• Warning signs in relationships
• Safety
• Healing and growth

If you are interested in attending this program, please call for a pre-group interview to discuss whether this program is right for you. There is no cost to attend this program, though a donation is welcomed.

Heart Health Workshop – #We will be Red

Kitchen Garden Remedies

TUESDAY 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This series of workshops, conducted by our naturopath and gardener, have a focus on nutrition. Each workshop in the series revolves around a particular topic or theme. The health benefits and nutritional value of various herbs, vegetables and fruits are explored; practical tips and techniques are provided in cooking, preparing, preserving and storing foods while gardening advice is provided around planting and growing.

Our next Kitchen Garden Remedies Workshop is:
Cheap, Nutritious and Delicious – Winter Harvest

Join us in creating casseroles, stews and soups using traditional winter veggies such as parsnips, turnips, swedes, potatoes as well as pearl barley, split peas and lentils.
Learn how to make broth and stock which can be used as a base for a number of hearty and wholesome dishes. Come and enjoy earthy meals made from fresh produce and plenty of love.

Bonus – take home pack of soup mix for each participant.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi can have a positive effect on the mind and the body. This gentle form of exercise can help in maintaining muscle strength, flexibility, balance and mobility.

Tai Chi is a series of slow, graceful, flowing movements or postures, which are undertaken methodically and precisely, using mindfulness techniques.

We conduct the following two Tai Chi sessions at our premises on Fridays, during school terms.
• Beginners Tai Chi – 10:00am to 10.45am
• Advanced Tai Chi – 11.00am to 12.00pm
