We were deeply saddened by the news that Debora Felman had passed away.
On behalf of our staff and management we extend heartfelt condolences to her family and many friends.
Debora worked as a Counsellor with Liverpool Women’s Health Centre for nearly twenty years. A registered Psychologist, Debora was highly qualified and extremely committed to improving women’s lives through her role as a therapist.
Debora identified as a woman with disability and was a strong advocate and adviser on issues of access and equity throughout her career. Despite, the overall difficulty in daily life that Debora faced as a consequence of disability, she rarely complained and most often would be seen to rise above the adversity. We could all take a leaf from her book.
As a CALD woman, Debora was acutely aware of issues facing women from non-English speaking backgrounds, particularly, those of the Spanish speaking community. She worked tirelessly and without judgement to help anyone in need.
Demonstrating the greatest of resilience, Debora was admired for her always positive outlook on life. She was caring, compassionate and adored by many.
Fondly remembered, forevermore.
Dear LWHC community
These are very difficult times and we want to let you know we are doing everything we can to keep us all healthy and well – and want to stay in touch with you!
As of this week we’re shifting a lot of the support we provide to the phone in response to the current Corona (COVID 19) virus pandemic.
For the time being, our medical clinics, massage therapy and acupuncture sessions are closed for bookings. We are not running Tai Chi or Yoga classes. We will update you as soon as there are any changes.
If you currently have an appointment, we’ll be in touch with you about arrangements. Where at all possible, we’ll be moving appointments from face to face to phone so we’re still providing much-needed services.
We know that this situation is very disruptive and we want you to know that we are here for you.
If you are feeling worried or isolated and would like to connect with LWHC for a friendly chat please call the Centre during normal business hours on 9601 3555 and ask for our social support service. This is not a counselling service, but rather a way to stay in touch.
If you haven’t already, we suggest you like and regularly check NSW Health’s Facebook page or follow them on Twitter. It’s regularly updated with the latest media conferences and information.
NSW Health’s website has very useful information about the Coronavirus, recent decisions and what it means to ‘’self isolate’’ and ‘’self distance’’: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/…/dise…/Pages/coronavirus.aspx
Over coming weeks we will be sharing information with you about how to stay safe, well and connected.
October 2019 found Liverpool Women’s Health Centre undertaking a long overdue up grade of our clinic rooms. Check out the before and after photos and understand why we are so very grateful to the IMB Bank Community Foundation for making this happen! Because of the Foundation’s generousity we were able to replace old plumbing, put down new durable flooring and install heaps of stylish storage, giving both clinic rooms the refresh and repaint they needed to greet the new decade in style. Our Doctors and Nurses love working in these spaces and our clients love them too, with comments like ‘just beautiful!’ and ‘so calm and professional’ pouring in from all sides. Thank you again IMB Bank Community Foundation! We couldnt have done this without you!
